At our multilingual live chat held on 20 November 2025, fund members had the opportunity to submit their questions directly to Francis Bouvier, the director of AVENA, and get answers on the spot. Here are some of their questions:

  • When do I have to tell AVENA whether I want to receive my retirement benefits as a lump sum or a monthly pension?
  • What happens with cross-border workers who leave Switzerland before retirement?
  • If I stop working at 57, can I maintain my 2nd pillar coverage?
  • If I used part of my pension savings to buy a property, can I still make a voluntary contribution or do I need to repay the withdrawal first?
